Brown-Chicken Brown-Cow. VersaSpa Experience

So I’m headed out to a Bachelorette part this weekend, and I didn’t have time to tan, I know, bad, bad tanning…But after putting on my LBD I decided that a little color would be a good touch so when I’m busting a move I don’t look like I’m waving fish bellies around. So crunched on time I opted for a spray tan. After comparing prices and types I settled on a VersaSpa at a nearby Tanning Salon. I kept reading raves about it. So away I went! And they had it on special for so I got 5 tans for pretty much the price of one and they are good till next March. DEAL. So let me tell you about the VersaSpa Experience. I say experience because it is somewhat like an amusement park ride. First when I came in the very nice lady working the front counter told me all about it and even showed me her tan which looked pretty brown and natural. So I bought the ticket and took the ride. We went back to the little booth and she explained all of the steps to me, which are pretty much.

  1. Get into your birthday suit
  2. Put on this handy dandy shower cap
  3. Put this pretty slimy prep lotion on your hands and feet
Then once you get into the thing… I’m standing there fully clothed while she’s explaining all this btw. She hops in to the machine and shows me the positions you have to stand in once you are in there. Which are as fallows:
  1. Face forward and push tata’s out spray, spray, spray
  2. Face the back spray, spray, spray
  3. Repeat
  4. Saturday Night Fever Pose to the Left spray, spray, spray
  5. Saturday Night Fever Pose the Right spray, spray spray
There are a few passes that it makes and it blow-dries you a few times in there.
There is also this automated woman’s voice the whole time also telling you what to do, which adds the whole ride experience complete with I think a please exit safely. It is pretty slippery in there towards the end.
The whole thing only lasts a few minutes, but it’s actually a lot of fun. Then while you are standing there all finished nakey it cleans itself and it’s like a waterfall.
So how did the tan turn out? Well something that I think is kind of funny is there are these spots that show up like brown splotches, I showed the lady at the front and she said that was normal and they would wash off, so home I went to sleep on it. It was a little stinky but not too bad, got up in the morning and ta-da! Instant tan! I didn’t go the darkest you could go in there I did the medium which I thought was safe and I don’t feel like I have a orangey glow, I look brown, and they splotches are very few and only where I was very dry, my left hand is the only place where I really notice it, they look a little like very faint age spots, but they aren’t too bad. So I’m very pleased. Kind of wish I had a before and after. Maybe next time.
Oh! Oh! I have a very bad habit of biting my nails, I always have and recently I’ve been trying not to and I have done solo well I have pretty nice nails now…the nail beds are a little iffy but eh it’s a start and they were even long enough to paint for this weekend and not get ceramics put on, cash-money in the bank baby. Not to mention my cats love them for tummy rubs and chin scratching…

Speaking of cats Leela has taken to doing this on everything, she lays on the banister, on the couch on a bed and this is her new pose, it’s so strange. She just hangs there and chatters to you.

Update on Exersice-o-rama: well there’s really none, I haven’t been sticking to much other than my one or none pop and I’ve jogged a few times on the treadmill, Weighted myself this morning and It was 203, so that’s a 1.4 pound loss, so not too bad, but think of what I could do if I tried harder! Next week baby next week!

Brown Biscuit Babe out!

There’s a cat for that

So I make my minions do my bidding… A cat to pay the bills and sort out the junk mail. And of course there has to be a supervisor cat to make sure it all gets done correctly.
And that kids, is how we run a smooth operation here.

Man I am beat. I’m so sleepy for some reason, but hopefully I’ll get some energy back by this weekend! So didn’t get to do The Bar Method last night because I was glued to the TV for September storm watch grrrr, but I did manage to at least take a good 30 min walk/jog on the treadmill and of course I had to watch the Chiefs win on Monday Night Football!!! I yelled so loud at an awesome punt return that I scared the cats!

Hmm what did I eat? I had a glass of milk for breakfast, a half a can of 7Up at work, some KFC green beans and mashed potatoes for lunch with a chicken strip, and some pasta for dinner oh yeah and an Almond Joy, hand full of peanuts. And water splashed in there. Not really healthy, but it’s what I ate.

Later Gators!

It's down to business baby.

I’m sitting here watching my little boy sleep next to me on the couch while I watch The Gates. I think he either has nightmares or he just talks a lot in his dreams, but I wake him up and hug him, my baby…

You know what is annoying? Room darkening curtains, they only come in one panel. I want two!! I got 2 in this awesome college pack, but they have really bright stripes, and that works out great for the office, but I want pretty ones for the bedrooms, and well buy a panel for 20 some bucks each just seems nutty to me at the moment when I got the other ones for 7 bucks. I’ll just have to wait for a clearance sale I think….I’m really not sure what color I want exactly but the one panel thing still bugs me.

I really like to play jinn or rummy, I’m not sure what it’s called but we’ve played it a few times with our friends, I’m not too good at it yet, but it is so much fun.

So the Bar Method came in the mail! Tried it out and it was pretty awesome. So I’m going to put the big bad truth up here I’m at my biggest weight ever. Yes, its 204.4 pounds. Yikes!!! That’s not only unhealthy for my wardrobe, but that’s really unhealthy for me. And with my family’s health history I know better than to just sit on the couch.
So here it is I'm going to try to blog every day not only my every day rants etcetera, but my updates on working out eating and weigh in each week. Take measurements also, sizes. That seemed to work well with the HCG…which was pregnant women’s hormones and that just started to feel funky… 500 calories a day isn’t the way to go, it really doesn’t fit into a normal human life.
My work out routine is going to be The Bar Method MWF and Cardio on TT then switch off every other SS. I want to also get in a 20 min walk on the treadmill M-F if I can. JustAnUglyMonkey also wants to do P90X so I’ll probably workout with him too. Diet wise I’m going to stick to the one pop a day if any and try not to eat after 6 or 7 at night, but other than that just more protein less sugary stuffs.
This is what my virtural model looks like now and below is my goal 60 pounds lighter.
So here are my measurements I’ll start the workouts tomorrow!
Weight: 204.4 pounds
Size: 14-16 shirt size L-XL women’s
Neck: 16 in.
Right Upper Arm: 14.5 in
Right Lower Arm: 10 in
Left Upper Arm: 14 in
Left Lower Arm 10 in
Chest: 45 in
Waist (at Belly Button): 47.5 in
Hips: 47.5 in
Right Upper Thigh: 27.5 in
Right Lower Thigh: 20 in
Right Calf: 16 in
Left Upper Thigh: 27.5 in
Left Lower Thigh: 19
Left Calf: 15.5
I know I’ve measured a few times… and I don’t know why parts of me are different sizes but they are. I’m strange…
Well time to hit the hay, before I hit the mill in the morning night!

Sassy. Classy. Lazy? No. Different Color Hair and a bit of Repo!

What a beautiful weekend!! And busy!! I feel like I’ve been pretty much non-stop for the last few weeks, next weekend I’m going to make a clause that says I don’t have to get out of my pjs and go anywhere for like a whole day, just a day I’m not asking the whole weekend, just a day all to me and being lazy. BUT! I did get a lot done this lovely Labor Day weekend and I saw many people. Lets see…

My dad had surgery 2 weeks ago and went home but didn’t really feel right and my Blondie took him back in on Friday and he ended up having to have another surgery. So I’ve been spending mucho time at hospital waiting rooms and what not, but at least I got to catch up on some trashy magazines and I now have a good idea of Good House Keeping…. Monkey and I both got home really late on Friday even me at hospital and he at work, both didn’t feel like cooking, but were starving so Monkey peeled me off of the couch and announced, “we’re going to Wendy’s” While waiting in the drive thru, I came up with the word sauce-ial, because I needed honey mustard for my sauce-ial needs. So in our half asleep ness sauce-ial became the “it” word of the night. Priceless.
Saturday got to go have dinner with the family super tasty and lots of fun, asked more questions about wedding, I really wish I had more to tell them, But we do know that we really want a huge party and I have the dress, flowers ... yadda yadda yadda, just need a date.  Went grocery shopping and got away with only spending 70 bucks! But then went home and figured out that I had forgotten a ton of stuff… on to laundry that has been piling up!
Sunday! Got up and went shopping with JustAnUglyMonkey for new jeans, saw him off to work then back out again to finish grocery shopping. Pick up candle orders drop off candle orders. More laundry! Wash dishes we have no plates or cups …. Probably a good time to do that. Watch Repo Men (I loved Repo the Genetic Opera, and feel like this was a cheap knock off.) Get ready go over to Mom and Dad Monkey’s house say hi and jet off to our friends for the evening. Ended up watching Camp Rock 1 & 2, I have now developed a slight crush on the Jonas Brothers.
This is what my boys do...
Monday, Monday, I wish all Mondays were like you, woke up around 10-ish. Made some coffee, started more laundry, unloaded dishwasher, took out trash, and laid on the couch. Ahhhh. Monkey came home from mowing and we watched Terminator Salvation and took a nap, I woke up and watched The Backup Plan. It was cute. Monkey went off to work and I got dressed and went over to my aunt’s house and me and 2 other ladies peeled pears and apples for canning and freezing. It was fun! I get to do it every year the fruit was from my mom and dad’s house, but I helped my aunt out since she had picked about hundred pounds of apples and 80 some pounds of pears. Oh and the pears are soo sweet! That was a ton of fun, we kept shooting apple cores out of the crank machines calling it, “Apple Core Wars!” and we were covered in apple juice, water and lemon, we called it an Organic Apple Water bath and decided after the blisters wore off that it would be really good for our skin. Most of the apples were perfect and beautiful, but you get a few icky ones…

And with the changing of the colors for fall, my favorite season, so I then decided to change colors, I’m a dark, dark brunette now ahhha yes, it had nothing to do with hiding all of that gray…. Lol.
This week I look forward to a nice short week, some fun work lunches, Beauty and the Beast in the evenings while I clean out my closet. And Georgia on Thursday!!!

On a very bright note an amazing co-worker and friend of mine has gotten engaged and she has a most beautiful ring! It’s main diamond is a pear shaped, which you don’t see very often now days, but it is a very nice piece I must say! I got curious as to what if any the different cut meanings were and by gosh I found out! And drum roll please here is what one site says about pears. Pear Cut: The elongated pear shape shows a woman to be an individual, yet she still has a soft side for traditional romance. She may be a trend-setter with this unusual shape, though the teardrop shape may also be a prelude to tears or sorrow or tears of joy
I say only tears of joy J

Love,
Amanda

Pop the Top!

"I came to dance, dance, dance, I’m wearing all my favorite brands, brands, brands. I throw my hands up in air sometimes, sayin’ a-o! got to let it go! we gonna rock this club, we gon lite it up cuz it’s dynamite!
It goes on and on and on!!"

Shake it! Shake it! I feel like dancing!!! It’s beautiful outside, the air is cool ahhhhhha my favorite!

I told Georgia that I just wanted to roll around outside, she then began to sing the “I don’t wanna work I want to bang on the drums all day” song. So good, go look it up.

There needs to be some sort of festival or something…. Oh! Oh! I’ve got a Bachelorette party to go to (not mine) in a few weeks and I’ve got to find something fabulous to wear to shake my booty in. I love to dance I don’t even care if I took like I’m having some sort of allergic reaction, I’ll shake it till I can’t shake no mo. And that’s precisely what I tend to do. But I can’t decide if I want to shake it in a dress or in jeans…. I’m leaning towards dress; a lot more wiggle room, no jeans to get stuck to you…. Hmmm now to find or make the perfect dress! Maybe… We’ll see how adventurous I am this weekend…
Georgia is getting this adorable sexy corset, hopefully it comes in time. She’ll look like a rock star!! As she always does.
Yes! you too could have this sexy contraption at Good-Deal something number.
I’ve got to find something to do with my hair.. and clean out clothes I don’t wear anymore. I could sell them! Or donate! But get them out of my house, they are coming out of my closet at an alarming rate! I think that is something else I’ll work on this weekend. Oh! Oh! And I get to see the gals this weekend! We are going to dinner it up at the Olive Garden, I haven't seen them in awhile! I misses them!
Maybe I’ll even start to fall decorate.

So fallow up on the mini bikes… I bit it. My first ride out JustAnUglyMonkey made me wear riding gloves and a helmet. He didn’t have to wear a helmet, no one else did, and they rode with flip-flops on too. L Well now I know why I was made to… After a few failed attempts I finally got going and I decided to put my feet down instead of hitting the breaks. Who knew that falling off of a foot tall bike could hurt so much?!?! I guess it makes a difference that you are going a certain speed. But I smacked my face on the road and popped the helmet off, I was sure I broke my nose, but nope it just felt that way. All I got for my heroic (not really) ride was some road rash, and well my whole body aches from smacking the ground, but I’m happy that’s all I got for it, it could have been worse if not for the helmet. Monkey made me hop back on and ride it back up to the drive way, he was proud I got back on…even if I sort of walk/road it back up. I know he wants me to learn, and I’ll try again…but I’m not sure bikes with motors on them are my thing… at least 2 wheeled…But I’m sort of proud of my little patch of road rash… I tried it, I did it, I’ve got a little badge of courage by my elbow that stings constantly, but it makes me smile.

Off to take some more Advil....
